Worship & Ministries

STREAM (Stronger Together Reaching Equality Across Manatee) is a grassroots and non-partisan community organization consisting of 15 multicultural and interfaith member congregations across Manatee County. We are a private, non-profit, 501(c) 3 and tax-exempt organization.

STREAM is a member of the Direct Action & Research Training Center (DART), a network of 28 grassroots organizations working to pursue faith-based justice initiatives across 9 states. DART trains community members to take direct action on problems facing their communities so that all people are treated with the fairness and justice that our faith traditions tell us we deserve.

The Food Bank of Manatee is a PLUS program of Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee. The Food Bank is the largest hunger-relief organization based in Manatee County, and has provided over 58 million pounds of food since 1985 for local children, families, and seniors. The Food Bank of Manatee provides nutritional assistance and caring, supportive services to individuals in need throughout Manatee County by distributing food through local non-profit partner agencies and food pantries, and through direct services to the community.

The success and sustainability of the United Church of Christ’s national ministries is relying on our church’s contribution to basic operating support and mission. Being 5 for 5 means that our church is a leader, providing support to Our Church’s Wider Mission and the Special Mission Offerings: One Great Hour of Sharing, Strengthen The Church, Neighbors In Need and The Christmas Fund.

“Open and Affirming” (ONA) is a movement of more than 1,800 churches and other ministries in the United Church of Christ that welcome lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ+) members. More than 350,000 members of the UCC belong to ONA churches—and our movement is growing rapidly.
